They are highly topical, but also very old. In terms of content, they can be placed 200 years ago, at Goya can be placed. The comparison is compelling and frightening. What has man learnt from the past? To what extent has he evolved? Is he at all capable of to become ‘man’ as Nietsche calls it? Or does he always fall back into the animal when the circumstances are available to do so. These images are testimonies to that.
We can ask ourselves the question whether man will perhaps only be able to realise his humanity through scientific technical way will man be able to realise his humanity!
The technique of these works is based on computer printing. The pixels are used in a free form, and intended both to give exclusion of time and to express the violatedness of human beings.
