REFUGEES from of the series "Brave new old Worlds"

All together as living cattle in a old covered wagon.

Hereby an overview about all the works I made for the series "Refugees" out of  "Brave new old Worlds">>

The number of refugees has always been high. It used to be called migrations of people and perhaps did not involve so much violence? It is just a suspicion. Or is it ? In our century, there is a movement of people all over the world, there is the possibility to travel, even over long distances, which causes many difficulties. The newcomers are not always wanted in the safe environment where they want to go. Often they are driven away, war violence ensues as we see now in Ukraine. Humanity is living in dramatic times.

The displacements are huge and painful. Goya : 200 years ago had to deal with it and captured the horrors in his work. In the meantime, nothing has improved, only worsened and on a larger scale. Should that be the case in a world with so many resources and a heightened sense of responsibility?

These works are collected images, plucked from a very recent actuality. That of the 21st century.

My series "Brave new old Worlds" bears witness to our times, to this situation.
