Hopefully this is only an exception, but after reading the newspapers you know this is not.
About 473 million children currently live in conflict zones, which is more than one in six children worldwide. The effects of war are devastating for children, as shown by the stories of children from countries who are trying to overcome their war experiences. The war in a lot of countries is also having devastating effects on children, many of whom are fleeing with their families. Organisations stress that children are always innocent in war situations and call for respect for international humanitarian law.
