WORLD IN BLUE : ZEELAND

Walk in an opal garden. 11.4.2022.
It is Sunday and the walk may turn out to be a little stranger than usual. A cloud glides over the landscape, obscuring light and colour. The brightness diminishes. We climb the rough steps in the dyke and suddenly see infinity stretching as far as the eye can see .  It looks very unusual, such a space without obstacles , infinite blue, light blue with cut-off clouds in the sky , the typical horizontal line of  wind clouds at sea. The thin air is a blue dream whose shades you can only see when the sun shines through. We walk along the water on the left. A strip full of white oyster shells forms a contrasting bed, and I remember that when the water recedes rapidly at high tide, the shells come to life and click like a strange orchestra.

It looks very unusual, such a space without obstacles , infinite blue, light blue with scattered clouds in the sky , the typical horizontal line of  wind clouds at sea.

It's not just loneliness that makes you feel different.

Filled Emptiness are vast landscapes, where immense mysterious spaces, which can no longer be found here in Belgium with its small-scale, densely built-up plots of land, take shape. Spaces as a metaphor for loneliness, an open mind that sees fullness: Filled Emptiness
